In the spring of 2010, the Octet sang a medley of Taylor Swift songs (see below), which eventually made its way to the computer of Ms. Swift’s mother via Youtube. Through a series of somewhat confusing but very exciting phone calls, the Octet was invited to Madison Square Garden in the late fall of 2011 to meet Ms. Swift and her parents, go on a tour of the backstage area led by Ms. Swift’s mother, and become perhaps the first group of ten college-age men to attend a Taylor Swift concert together. The Octet is very grateful to the Swift family for their generosity and hopes to bring the medley back into the Octet’s working repertoire in the near future.
